PM Modi Dons Traditional 'Chola Dora' Hand Made By Chamba Women For Prayers In Uttarakhand

Modi In Kedarnath: PM Modi told the women that he would wear the outfit for the first time on a visit to a frigid region when he received it, and he kept his word on Friday.

Modi In Kedarnath: Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintained his promise to the women of Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, by wearing a dress fashioned by them as he began a three-state tour with prayers at Uttarakhand's Kedarnath, a temple he had visited in November last year.

The 'Chola Dora' outfit, which contains extremely excellent handwork, was given to the prime minister during his recent visit to Himachal. PM Modi told the women that he would wear the outfit for the first time on a visit to a frigid region when he received it, and he kept his word on Friday.

Before travelling to the Badrinath shrine, the prime minister did a "puja" at the temple. Modi is set to check different existing development projects and lay the groundwork for some new ones during his two-day trip of the state. These include setting the groundwork for the 9.7-kilometer Gaurikund-Kedarnath ropeway project.

PM Modi engaged in a free-wheeling conversation with Shramjeevis, who works on development initiatives. He inquired about their home states, the benefits of government aid programmes, and their Covid vaccination status.

During his visit to Kedarnath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inspects the progress of development works along the Mandakini and Saraswati Asthapaths, ANI reported.

PM Modi's Schedule

A record-breaking over 41 lakh pilgrims have travelled to the Char Dhams this year, which coincides with the prime minister's trip to Kedarnath and Badrinath. According to information obtained by News18, over 14 lakh pilgrims have already visited Kedarnath, over 6 lakh have visited Gangotri, and over 5 lakh have visited Yamunotri. Around 15 lakh pilgrims have already visited Badrinath this year.

For the first time, PM Modi will spend the night in Badrinath during his visit. In Mana village, the final border hamlet along the India-China border, he will host a public meeting to examine the development programme for border villages. Additionally, he will go through the current Badrinath Master Plan.

On December 22, Modi will return from Uttarakhand due to his busy itinerary. He will use videoconferencing later in the day to take part in the Griha Pravesham ceremony for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grain) recipients in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, he will take part in a significant initiative that will influence young people all around the nation; specifics will be made public soon.

The Prime Minister will arrive at Ayodhya on the 23rd. He will offer pooja and have darshan of Lord Ram before inspecting the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra location. He will attend Bhagwan Shri Ram's Rajya-Abhishek. The Prime Minister will also watch the stunning aarti at the new Saryu river ghat, before taking part in the major Deepotsav festivities.
