Congress Is An Organisation Of 'Tapsya', BJP And RSS Want People To Worship Them: Rahul Gandhi In Haryana
While answering counter questions, Rahul Gandhi said that it is the Congress party's press conference and not of the BJP or RSS.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday gave a reference of Lord Krishna from Mahabharat saying that he is doing the work and is focusing on Yatra. He said that his party will do some more work after the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Taking a jibe at the BJP and RSS, the former Congress president said, "Congress is an organisation of tapsya and BJP is a sangathan of pooja."
"BJP and RSS want people to forcibly worship them", he added.
Answering questions on the Congress' organisational unity, Gandhi said, “The unity of the organisation is there in the Yatra. I am not the Congress president, Kharge ji is, so he will tell how the organisation will be strengthened.”
Rahul Gandhi was taking questions from reporters in Haryana's Samana amid the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Attacks BJP And RSS
Rahul Gandhi again took a jibe at PM Modi asking how many conferences the PM has addressed.
Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi wants people to worship him whereas the Bharat Jodo Yatra aims to worship hard work and skill. He added that “BJP and RSS are diverting people to forced worship” saying that this is the reason why PM Modi avoids press conferences because eventually, someone will ask him something tough.
Another purpose of this Yatra that we are seeing is that this Yatra is like a "tapasya", he added.
"We love our country, we love our people, farmers, poor and we want to walk with them. So, Yatra's purpose is also that people of this country get to hear the true voice of the country," the Congress leader said.
Rahul On Bharat Jodo Yatra
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the Bharat Jodo Yatra has received a tremendous response everywhere in the country, adding that the foot march is against hatred and fear being spread in society as well as against unemployment and inflation.
He said the Yatra's purpose is also to let people hear the true voice of the country, reported PTI.
Rahul Gandhi said that he got to learn many things during the course of the journey so far.
"What is in the country's heart got to hear that directly (interacting with people). The Yatra has received good response in Haryana -- it is energetic, enthusiastic response," he said.
Responding to critics of the Yatra, Gandhi said when it was started, "people said the response which we got in Kerala, we won't get that in Karnataka, which is a BJP-ruled state. But we got an even better response there. Then they said the Yatra got a response in south India, but when it reaches Maharashtra, it won’t get that response. When we reached Maharashtra, we got an even better response than the south".
"Then it was said we will not get a good response when the Yatra passes through the Hindi belt, but in Madhya Pradesh, there was even more improvement to the response. When we reached Haryana, it was said it is a BJP-ruled state, but here too the response was overwhelming. As we are moving forward, the response is improving," PTI quoted him as saying.
Replying to a question, Gandhi said, "The voice of India which is being suppressed, the fear which is being spread and India which is being divided, one caste being put up against the other, one religion being put up against the other, this Yatra is against that."
On Chhattisgarh
Responding to the alleged encounter of a 19-year-old boy in Chhattisgarh and the electricity power cut at activist Soni Sori's house in the state, Rahul said that it is not his party’s policy to do divide people as the current Central government is doing.
He said that BJP is doing divisive politics, feeding people with hatred in the country.
He assured reporters that he will visit Chhattisgarh personally after concluding the Yatra to see what could be done.
Congress Policy On Different Issus
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress party will form the government in Haryana.
When asked whether he will implement the suggestion of Swaminathan Report on MSP, he said that this needs to be discussed with other party leaders but, if it gets mentioned in the party’s manifesto, it will certainly be done.
When asked about any roadmap for employment in the country, Rahul said that the foundation of small and medium industries will be protected, and they will be transformed using technology to create jobs. He said that India’s education only shows five destinations where the country has lakhs of destinations and expertise. This country needs to uplift its skills to become a developed country in reality.
Rahul Gandhi On Haryana And Madhya Pradesh
When reporters asked about the Congress CM candidate in Haryana and about the cross-voting in Rajya Sabha polls, Rahul Gandhi dodged them both saying these questions are an attempt to “divert the focus from Bharat Jodo Yatra”.
