‘18th Lok Sabha Is House Of Youthful Energy’: PM-Designate Modi Stakes Claim To Form Govt, Oath Ceremony On June 9

Prime Minister-designate Modi emphasised the youthful vigour of the newly elected 18th Lok Sabha, reflecting the aspirations of a nation moving towards the centenary of its independence in 2047.

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is poised to begin his third consecutive term after being chosen as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party. In an energetic statement, Modi emphasised the youthful vigour of the newly elected 18th Lok Sabha, reflecting the aspirations of a nation moving towards the centenary of its independence in 2047.

Addressing the media, Modi remarked, "This 18th Lok Sabha is a House of new energy, youthful energy; people have given the NDA government one more chance." He highlighted the significance of this election, being the first after the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', a celebration of 75 years of independence. "This is the first election after 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. This 18th Lok Sabha is an important milestone towards fulfilling those dreams when the country will be celebrating 100 years of independence in 2047," he said.

Modi met with President Droupadi Murmu to formally stake his claim to form the government. "The NDA meeting was held earlier today, where friends from the alliance have chosen me for this responsibility. All the NDA allies informed the President about this, and the President called me and appointed me as PM-designate. She informed me about the swearing-in ceremony and the list of Cabinet ministers. I have informed her that evening of June 9 will be suitable for us," Modi said.

Expressing gratitude towards the electorate, Modi stated, "People of the country have directed the NDA government to serve them for the third time. I once again thank the people for this opportunity. I assure them that the pace at which the country has developed in the last two terms, transformation is clearly visible in every section of society... this is a matter of pride for every Indian... I assure the people that in the 18th Lok Sabha, we will not leave any stone unturned in fulfilling the country's aspirations with the same pace and dedication."

In his speech, Modi also acknowledged the efforts of media professionals during the election period. "Just like us, media persons also have to work hard during elections, covering different locations. You all have taken a lot of pain, and I hope that the health of all my friends from the media world is good," he stated.

Reflecting on India's global standing, Modi noted, "During this tenure of 10 years, India has emerged as a Vishwabandhu for the world. Its maximum advantage is starting now. And I am sure that the next five years are going to be very useful for India in the global environment as well. The world is going through many crises, many tensions, disasters...we Indians are fortunate that despite so many big crises, we are today known as the world's fastest-growing economy. We are also being praised in the world for growth."

"This government - NDA-I, NDA-II, and NDA-III - is a continuation, and we will take it forward with more vision and comprehensive to ensure our resolutions, our commitment towards good governance and attempt towards fulfilling the dreams of the common people," the Prime Minister-Designate emphasised.

"Every BJP karyakarta is inspired by Advani ji's monumental efforts to strengthen the party," Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Subsequently, he called on Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, another senior BJP figure. "I have learnt so much from him when I was working in the party organisation," Modi shared.
