Parliament Budget Session Highlights: Hello and welcome to ABP Live Parliament Budget Session Live Blog. Follow this space for latest updates on the second leg of Budget Session of the Parliament. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will resume today after being adjourned March 29 on a stormy note following continued demand by the Opposition for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe on Hindernburg Research's report on Adani Group alleging stock manipulation.
The Opposition also demanded a discussion on disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha after his conviction in the 2019 defamation case by a Surat court for his 'Modi-surname' remark made during a poll campaign in Karnataka. Meanwhile Lakshadweep MP Mohammad Faizal's Lok Sabha membership was revoked by Lok Sabha Secretariat after the Kerala High Court stayed his conviction in a criminal case.
Amid uproar by the Opposition, The Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2022 was passed in Lok Sabha without a debate. The bill aims to bring more flexibility, agency, and accountability to the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
While, environment minister Bhupender Yadav introduced the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill, 2023 in Lok Sabha. The bill aims to amend the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980.
Minister of State Nityanand Rai informed the Rajya Sabha that the FCRA licence of 18 NGOs from 2020 to 2022 have been cancelled by the Centre.
After being disqualified from Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi had arrived in the Parliament for the first time on Wednesday to attend the meeting of Congress MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha at Congress Parliamentary Party office.
The Congress leader also met with Shiv Sena Uddhav Thacekray faction leader Sanjay Raut days after the party expressed its dissappointment over Rahul Gandhi's Savarkar remark which made Uddhav Thackeray skip a dinner meet of the Opposition at Mallikarjun Kharge's residence.
The Opposition has been creating a ruckus and stalling the proceedings of both the Houses of Parliament demanding a JPC on the Adani row.

Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day following protests by the Opposition on the Adani row. Rajya Sabha was also adjourned for the day after passing The Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2023 without discussion.
Congress Doing Drama To Threaten Judiciary: Kiren Rijiju
On Rahul Gandhi appealing against his conviction in the defamation case, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju says Congress is "doing a drama to threaten the judiciary. I condemn it. If a court has convicted somebody, then the drama is basically about pressuring. Congress party considers a family above the country."
