Operation Sindhu: Another Flight With 310 Indians Lands In Delhi From Iran, Over 800 Evacuated So Far

Earlier today, another flight landed in New Delhi from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan at 3:00 AM, carrying 517 Indian nationals back home as part of Operation Sindhu amid the Iran-Israel tensions.

Another flight carrying 310 Indians landed at the Delhi airport from Iran's Mashhad on Saturday evening. The evacuation is being done as part of Indian government's 'Operation Sindhu,' which has been launched to ensure the safe return of Indian nationals from the Middle Eastern region amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.

The flight arrived at the Delhi airport at 4:30 PM on Saturday, bringing the total number of Indians evacuated so far to 827, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared on X.

Earlier today, another flight landed in New Delhi from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan at 3:00 AM. The flight carried 517 Indian nationals back home.

"OperationSindhu continues. A special evacuation flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan landed in New Delhi at 0300 hrs on 21st June, bringing Indians from Iran home. With this, so far 517 Indian nationals from Iran have returned home under Operation Sindhu," Jasiwal wrote on X.

On June 20, the Indian government had flown in 290 citizens from Iran, including students and religions pilgrims by a charter flight.  

"The flight arrived in New Delhi at 2330 hrs on 20 June and was received by Secretary (CPV& OIA) Arun Chatterjee," MEA said, expressing gratitude to Iran for the facilitation of the evacuation process.

India had announced the launch of Operation Sindhu to evacuate its nationals from Iran on Wednesday.

The first batch of 110 Indian nationals, who were evacuated from conflict-hit Iran, landed in India on Thursday. Many of them shared firsthand accounts of the frightening situation they witnessed before they were moved to safer locations.

They were welcomed by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh on their arrival at Delhi airport.
