Only 67% Pass Class 10 Exam In Andhra. How It Compares With Pass Percentages In Other States

Board Results in India: Assam recorded a pass percentage of 56.49 percent whereas 65.18 percent students cleared class 10th board exam in Gujarat. West Bengal, recorded 86.60 pass percent.

New Delhi: The result for class 10th Andhra Pradesh board exams were announced on Monday which recorded a pass percentage of 67.26 percent or 4,14,281 of the 6,15,908 students who appeared for the exam. The pass percentage came as a highlight as it was the lowest number of students who passed the exam in the state since 2007. 

In 2007, the then united Andhra Pradesh had recorded a pass percentage of 73 percent in the state while this year it went down to 67.26 percent. 

Exams for class 10th in the state were conducted from April 27 to May 9 this year after a gap of two years. In 2020 and 2021. All students were declared passed as the public examinations could not be conducted due to COVID-19 pandemic.

As per the report, low pass percentage was a result of realistic evaluation, said official sources. We ensured there were no malpractices whatsoever in the conduct of the exams and the evaluation was also done on a realistic basis. That has clearly reflected in the overall results," a top official of the School Education Department pointed out.

Another state which recorded a lower pass percentage in class 10th board exam this year was Assam. The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) declared results for class 10th on Tuesday with a pass percentage of 56.49 percent only. This came as a sharp decline in the pass percentage as 93.10 percent of the students who had appeared cleared the exam last year. 

The pass percentage in the state of Gujarat for class 10th this year also hovered at almost the same range as Andhra Pradesh with 65.18 percent. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) announced results for class 10th on Monday, June 6. 

Of all the state board results for class 10th that have been announced till the time of writing this report, West Bengal recorded the highest. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education had declared WBBSE madhyamik class 10th results 2022 on June 3 with 86.60 percent of students passing the examination.

Uttarakhand Board of Seconday Education which announced result for class 10th on Friday recorded a pass percentage of 77.74 percent this year
