Nitish Kumar Laughs Off Lalu Yadav’s 'Visarjan' Jibe. Says, 'He Can Even Get Me Shot'

Kumar, in an interview with ANI in Patna said, “I always worked for the people. How will they get publicity if they do not speak about me?”

New Delhi: As Bihar moves closer to the by-elections scheduled on October 30, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar dismissed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s “visarjan” jibe, laughingly saying that “He can get me shot. He can't do anything else.”

The statement came after Lalu’s comment that he will ensure Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and NDA’s “visarjan” (immersion) in the upcoming bypolls. Kumar, in an interview with ANI in Patna, said, “I always worked for the people. How will they get publicity if they do not speak about me?”

“When they were given time, they did nothing during their tenure. The state of roads, schools, and the condition of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes in their tenure are visible to all. We have worked for the Schedule castes, STs, and for the Backward Classes. There were so many people who migrated from the state due to unemployment,” added Kumar.

Kumar also said, “We have given reservation to women in the Bihar police. All the recruitments, all developments are in front of everyone. We are working for development and providing employment. For the education of girls, we gave an inter-school to every panchayat.”

Lalu Back In Bihar Politics

Lalu Prasad Yadav has returned to the political arena after a gap of three years as he was serving his jail term in the fodder scam case. He got released earlier this year. His return is expected to raise the political temperature as he hit the headlines soon after his release.

The NDA had won 125 out of 243 seats in the 2020 assembly elections with Janata Dal (United) securing 43 seats and BJP securing 74 seats. And the RJD had emerged as the single-largest party with 75 seats forming the opposition in the state.
