NCSC Chairman On Complaint By Sameer Wankhede's Relatives: ‘They Said Their Community Is Hurt, Feels Insulted’

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have also started the investigation in the case after recording Sameer Wankhede’s statement. The inquiry is being conducted by an ACP-level officer.

New Delhi: The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Chairman Vijay Sampla said on Thursday that a complaint has been filed by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede’s relatives against Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik, and the investigation is ongoing.

“They (Sameer Wankhede's relatives) met me and complained of the manner in which the minister is appearing on TV and using foul language for them and their caste, they said that their community is hurt and feels insulted,” Sampla told news agency ANI.

He ensured that if the claims by the Wankhede family are found to be true, action will be taken. “They also say that they had given their complaint to the Police too but to no avail. I told my officers today that we will go through all of it and send a notice to DGP and Chief Secretary. If the facts are found to be true, then action should definitely be taken,” added Sampla.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have also started the investigation in the case after recording Sameer Wankhede’s statement. The inquiry is being conducted by an ACP-level officer.

“Mumbai police have recorded a statement of Sameer Wankhede in regard to his complaint with the NCSC against Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik,” reported ANI. The inquiry is being conducted by an ACP-level officer.

Sameer Wankhede had met Sampla on November 1 and submitted his documents for investigation after Nawab Malik had alleged him of forgery.

Sameer Wankhede’s father Dhyandev Wankhede had also filed a defamation case of Rs. 1.25 crores against Nawab Malik for his “tortious and defamatory in nature” comments.
