Heavy Rains In Delhi-NCR. Several Flights Affected, Massive Traffic Jams Reported
Delhi Rains Update: Traffic was also hit in many parts of the city due to the heavy downpour. At least 25 flight departures and 15 flight arrivals were delayed.
New Delhi: At least seven flights were diverted and 40 services were delayed at Delhi airport as heavy rains that lashed the national capital on Wednesday, PTI reported. Traffic was also hit in many parts of the city due to the heavy downpour. At least 25 flight departures and 15 flight arrivals were delayed due to bad weather. Vistara said on Twitter that its two Mumbai-Delhi flights were diverted to other cities -- one to Jaipur and another to Indore.
The Indian Meteorological Department had predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for today and had also issued a Yellow alert for the national capital. "Yellow alert issued for Delhi today; generally cloudy sky, moderate to heavy rain & thunderstorms expected, said IMD Delhi, as reported by news agency ANI.

As per IMD entire Delhi and NCR region and adjoining districts in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh will experience "thundershower with moderate to heavy intensity rain with very heavy intensity rain over isolated places and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h" in next two hours.

On Tuesday also, Delhi received light rainfall bringing some respite from the sultry weather conditions that loomed over the city for past some days. However, the maximum temperature settled three notches above the normal to record at 37.7 degrees Celsius.
As per data shared by the weather department, the Safdarjung Observatory, whose reading is considered official for the city, reported ‘nil’ waterfall, whereas other weather stations recorded 0.5 rainfall at SPS Mayur Vihar, 2.5 mm at Jafarpur and 1 at Narela on Tuesday. While areas like East of Kailash and other regions of south Delhi received light rains, some other areas in the city like Lodhi Road reported traces of rainfall.
