To launch the scheme, programmes will be organised in all 1,438 primary health centres in the state. An official release issued by the Chief Minister's Office stated that a large-scale awareness campaign would be launched to promote and publicise the scheme.
Earlier, on January 13, an agreement was signed in New Delhi between the state government and the National Health Authority for the implementation of Ayushman Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Odisha. Both Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will benefit over 1.03 crore families in the state.
An official said, "Both these schemes will be implemented jointly in Odisha. For both schemes, each beneficiary will be provided with a card." They explained that the beneficiaries of the Vaya Vandana Yojana (for senior citizens above 70 years of age) will receive a separate special card.
Under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, approximately 67.80 lakh families will benefit, while over 35.84 lakh families will benefit under Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana. Similarly, Ayushman Bharat Vaya Vandana Yojana will include people over 70 years of age.
According to the information, the number of people over 70 years of age is 23,12,979. However, about 17 lakh of them are associated with Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, so the remaining six lakh people will benefit under Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana.
