Model Accuses Man Of 'Raping', 'Forcing' To Convert Religion, Accused Booked
A man from Ranchi has been booked for allegedly raping a model, trying to murder her and pressurising her to convert her religion.
A case has been registered against a man from Ranchi for allegedly raping a model and pressurising her to convert her religion. The man, identified as Tanveer Akhtar, reportedly sent the model's pictures to her family and also commented on social media posts. She said that he lied to her about his name and after watching 'The Kerala Files' film, she got the courage to register a complaint against him. Now, Mumbai's Versova police station has registered a case against the accused under sections 376(2)(N), 328,506,504,323 of the IPC and section 67 of the IT Act.
Talking to ANI, the model said, "He was putting pressure on me to marry him and convert my religion. All this started in the year 2020 when I joined his modelling agency. Earlier he told me that his name is Yash but after 4 months, I got to know that his real name is Tanveer Akhtar. He is sending my pictures to my family members and commenting on my social media posts. He also tried to kill me in Mumbai. After watching the film 'The Kerala Files', I got motivated to register a complaint against him."

Kishor Kaushal, SSP Ranchi said that the complainant lodged a complaint with Mumbai Police at Versova Police Station on May 29. He added that since the incident took place in Ranchi, this case was transferred to Ranchi Police.
