Mamata To Meet Uddhav, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh In Mumbai Before Attending Ambani Wedding

Mamata Banerjee will be flying to Mumbai to attend the Ambani wedding on Friday before which she will meet Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, and Sharad Pawar.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday stated that she would be visiting Mumbai on July 12, where she will meet the leaders of the opposition alliance before attending the wedding of industrialist Mukesh Ambani's son Anant Ambani. This will be her first meeting with the I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders after the Lok Sabha elections.

Banerjee stated that she has an appointment scheduled to meet Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, where Nationalist Congress (SP) supremo, Sharad Pawar will also be present.

She is also likely to meet Samajwadi Party chief and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav during the meeting.

"I am going to Mumbai for the wedding of Mukesh Ambani's son. Tomorrow I have an appointment with Uddhav Thackeray. I will also meet Sharad Pawar there. There will be political discussion as we will meet after (Lok Sabha) elections. Akhilesh Yadav will also reach there, so there is a possibility that I will meet him too," the West Bengal CM said.

Mamata Slams BJP, Media For Maligning Bengal

Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress supremo had recently blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party and a section of media for maligning Bengal following the mob assault in North 24 Parganas district's Ariadaha.

Accusing TV channels of showing the video clip of a two-year-old incident ahead of the bypolls in Bengal, Banerjee alleged that the BJP was trying to malign the state, as a part of its damage control strategy after the defeat in Lok Sabha polls, news agency PTI reported.

She also said that the viral video clip is of an incident that occured when BJP's Arjun Singh was the MP of Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency.

The police had initiated a suo motu case and arrested three suspects, including a local TMC leader after the old video clip showing a girl being assaulted by a group of people in Ariadaha surfaced.

Prime suspect Jayant Singh, who was out on bail after being arrested in 2023 in another case, is now facing additional charges for violating the bail condition of not getting furher involved in illegal activities.

Barrackpore Police Commissioner CP Alok Rajoria told PTI that eight persons were identified from the footage, and strict action will be taken against those involved in the case.
