Antilia Case: Sachin Waze Gives A Personal Clean Chit To Ex-Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh

Waze said that neither Anil Deshmukh nor his staff or anyone else in Deshmukh’s name ever demanded money from him. Waze also said that he never gave money to Anil Deshmukh or his associates.

New Delhi: Sacked police officer Sachin Waze, who was arrested in the Antilia scandal, gave a clean chit to the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh from his side. Waze said that neither Anil Deshmukh nor his staff or anyone else in Deshmukh’s name ever demanded money from him. Waze also said that he never gave money to Anil Deshmukh or his associates.

The next hearing in the Chandiwal Commission will now be held on December 21.

Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Girish Kulkarni questioned Sachin Waze in front of the Chandiwal Commission. Kulkarni asked if anyone offered money from the Home Department for any work or tried to influence any investigation on the basis of money. 

Recently, the Chandiwal Commission had cancelled a bailable warrant against the former Police Commissioner and another important member of the case, Param Bir Singh. Singh had alleged charges of corruption against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. 

Singh had appeared before the Chandiwal Commission, who is investigating the corruption charges levelled by Singh, on November 29 

The Justice K U Chandiwal Commission had cancelled the bailable warrant of Singh and also asked him to deposit Rs 15,000 in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, PTI had reported. 

The one member, Chandiwal Commission, was formed in March this year for investigating the allegations of corruption leveled against then Home Minister and senior member of the NCP, Anil Deshmukh by Param Bir Singh. 

A 1998 batch of Indian Police Service Officer, Param Bir Singh had leveled accusations against Deshmukh of asking police officers to collect Rs 1000 every month from bars and restaurants, which Deshmukh has denied.
