Maha Kumbh 2025: Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk visited Prayagraj and took a dip at Triveni Sangam.

Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk on Tuesday took a dip at Maha Kumbh's Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also accompanied the Bhutan King during the visit.

The King also offered prayers at Triveni Sangam, along with UP CM Yogi.

Earlier, he also feed birds during a boat ride at Sangam.

Ahead of his visit to Prayagraj, Wangchuk arrived in Lucknow where he was hosted by Governor Anandiben Patel. The Governor and the CM held detailed discussions on India-Bhutan relations with the King.
The King and Queen of Bhutan had earlier visited Delhi in December 2024 and in March 2024. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was the first leader to be honoured by Bhutan with its highest civilian honour, the 'Order of Druk Gyalpo'.
A few days back, a delegation of 73 foreign diplomats and guests visited the Maha Kumbh Mela and expressed their happiness with the arrangements made for the trip, said the Uttar Pradesh government in a statement.
As per the details, more than 54 lakh devotees had taken a dip at Maha Kumbh on Tuesday by 12 noon. Overall, more than 37.50 crore devotees have taken the holy bath since the mega fair's commencement on January 13, according to the UP government. The Maha Kumbh culminates on February 26.
