After his condition deteriorated, Ashish Mishra was admitted to the jail hospital at 10 pm on Saturday.

It was for the second time that Ashish Mishra, arrested for his alleged role in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence which claimed eight lives, was remanded in police custody.

Earlier on October 9, after 11 hours of questioning, Ashish Mishra was arrested and later was remanded to police custody on October 11 with the remand period starting on October 12 and ending on October 15.

Meanwhile, UP police were able to arrest three more persons on Saturday in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, taking the total number of arrests to 13.

On October 3, violence erupted in Lakhimpur Kheri after two SUVs allegedly ran over a group of anti-farm law protesters, who were demonstrating against the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at Tikonia-Banbirpur road.
