'If Nitish Kumar Wants..' Bihar Ex-CM Jitan Ram Manjhi Bats For Son As Chief Minister

Manjhi believes his son will become a far better CM of the state than any other leader, adding that the decision by Nitish Kumar will be decisive in the matter.

Former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) founder Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday again asserted that his son and current party president Santosh Kumar Suman is the perfect candidate for the post of Bihar CM if Nitish Kumar wants it that way. While talking to the media in Bihar's Gaya district, Manjhi said, "Development is fast under Nitish Kumar govt. Electricity, roads, hospital facility, and schooling made better in past years. Santosh Kumar is the perfect candidate for CM if Nitish wants. We are with him, and whatever he decides will follow."

He also said, "Youth, educated, and people of the same caste are also eligible for CM posts."

Manjhi further commented, "We are also bringing our society together. Santosh is young and well-educated."

Manjhi's comments come after senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad earlier in the day said that Nitish Kumar was not being able to handle Bihar.
"What has happened to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar? He isn't able to handle Bihar, the state is in trouble. There is chaos in his party. Congress isn't giving him any lift. Nitish ji, you want to become like Deve Gowda or Inder Kumar Gujral (former PMs)," Prasad said on Sunday.

While showering praise on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Manjhi said his son Santosh will prove to be a far better Chief Minister of the state than any other leader.

However, this is not the first time that Manjhi has backed his son as the Chief Minister of Bihar.

While participating in the "Garib Sampark Yatra" in the Jehanabad district of Bihar, Manjhi said he wanted his son to be made the state's Chief Minister. He said that he believes that his son will become a far better CM of the state than any other leader, adding that the decision by Nitish Kumar will be decisive in the matter.

Asserting that Manjhi is with Nitish Kumar, he claimed that Kumar made him the Chief Minister earlier which is not a small thing.

Manjhi said, "I have always respected him."

"Whatever he has done for me, nobody else will do," said the former Chief Minister of Bihar.

However, he stated that even though Kumar removed Manjhi from the post of Chief Minister, he has no complaints regarding it.

Meanwhile, Manjhi further added that he will stand by Nitish Kumar if he announces Tejashwi Yadav's name to lead the Mahagathbandhan in 2025 in Bihar, ahead of the assembly elections.

He also said, "I am travelling across Bihar as the former Chief Minister of the state and I am enjoying several government benefits only because of Nitish Kumar."

"I will stand with him (Nitish Kumar) even if he abuses me," said Jitan Ram Manjhi.
