J&K: Militant Killed In Anantnag Encounter Identified As Hizbul Mujahideen Terrorist Shahzad Ahmad Seh
The encounter broke out in Anantnag as security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation at Mumanhal village of the Arwani area.
New Delhi: Jammu & Kashmir Police on Thursday revealed that a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was neutralised in a joint operation in Anantnag’s Bijbehara area.
This comes after police had informed that an unidentified terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in the district on Friday.

“In a joint operation, security forces and police neutralised one Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, identified as Shahzad Ahmad Seh in Bijbehara, Anantnag. He was involved in a number of terror crimes”: Jammu & Kashmir Police stated, as reported by news agency ANI.
It was informed that incriminating materials and arms and ammunition were recovered from him.
Jammu & Kashmir Police further revealed that “police along with the Indian Army and CRPF have arrested two LeT terrorist associates from Chadoora area of Budgam. Incriminating material, two hand grenades, two AK-47 magazines, 30 live AK-47 rounds were recovered from their possession”.

The encounter broke out in Anantnag as security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation at Mumanhal village of the Arwani area in the district after inputs were received about the presence of militants there, news agency PTI reported a police official as saying.
The search operation had turned into an encounter after militants opened fire on the security personnel, who retaliated.
