Indian Air Force Day 2024: India is celebrating the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF), on October 8, 2024, Tuesday. The day is dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who serve in the force, as well as commemorating its establishment. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, presided over the ceremony, reviewing the parade as part of the day's celebrations.
The event, held at the Tambaram Air Force Station, took a turn when an Indian Air Force jawan fainted during the parade.

Despite the minor incident, the event proceeded smoothly with other servicemen stepping in to assist the fainted jawan.
Indian Air Force 92nd Anniversary
Indian Air Force's theme, 'Bharatiya Vayusena: Saksham, Sashakt aur Aatmnirbhar' (Potent, Powerful, and Self-Reliant), emphasises the growing strength and self-reliance of India’s air defense capabilities.
Notably, in the lead-up to the anniversary, IAF hosted an airshow at Chennai’s iconic Marina Beach on Sunday, October 6, which saw spectacular aerobatic displays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., captivating the crowd and showcasing the prowess of the Indian Air Force.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Health Minister sought not to politicise the five deaths that occurred after Indian Air Force’s air show on the Marina beach. “The historic 92nd IAF Day celebration was successfully conducted on the Marina Beach to showcase India’s air defence prowess to the world. A Rafale fighter plane air dashed to Marina Beach from Thanjavur in hardly 20 minutes to show our capability. Let’s not politicise the occasion,” Subramanian appealed.
