India To Host Quad Summit In 2024, PM Modi Announces

PM Modi has announced that India will host the Quad Summit in 2024.

PM Modi has announced that India will host the Quad Summit in 2024. Speaking during the Quad meeting in Hiroshima, he said, "Quad will continue to make efforts towards global good, the welfare of the people, prosperity and peace". Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Hiroshima to attend the G7 summit being held under Japan's presidency. Although India is not a part of the G7 nations, it was on PM Kishida's invitation that Prime Minister Modi visited the country.

Australia's Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, has reconfirmed the country's commitment to promoting a united, sustainable, safe, and prosperous Indo-Pacific area.

During the meeting, Australian PM Anthony Albanese said, "I am delighted to be among close friends again. Standing together for an open, stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. A region where sovereignty is respected and all countries large and small benefit from the regional balance."

Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister of Japan, pledged to actively collaborate with other nations within South Asia and the Pacific Islands in a practical manner.

While Japanese PM Fumio Kishida said, "We will listen to the voices of regional countries of ASEAN, South Asia & Pacific island states to engage in practical cooperation which delivers true benefits to the region as a force for good."

Joe Biden, the President of the United States, expressed his belief that the Quad alliance possesses the capability to change the global dynamics.

Speaking at the meeting, US President Joe Biden said, "I think people will look at this Quad 20-30 years from now and say that change is dynamic not only in the region but the world. In my view, we have made enormous progress in the last two years."

Quad is a multilateral coalition comprising four nations, namely India, Australia, Japan, and the United States. Its fundamental objective is to guarantee and promote a "free, transparent, and prosperous" Indo-Pacific region. In 2017, the establishment of this group posed a formidable opposition to China's expansionist agenda.
