'They've Come To Blows, We'll Try And Help Them,' Donald Trump On India-China Border Tensions

US President Donald Trump on Saturday said that India and China have got a big problem and the situation is tough.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing border dispute between India and China in Ladakh which further aggravated after the Galwan valley clash, the Donald Trump said that the United States is talking to both the neighboring countries to help them overcome the tensions. We're talking to India. We're talking to China. They've got a big problem there”, Trump told reporters at the White House “They've come to blows, and we'll see what happens. We'll try and help them out,” he said. In the recent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Galwan valley, as many as 20 Indian soldiers were martyred as Chinese troops used barbed wire batons and nailed sticks to attack the unarmed soldiers. The Chinese side suffered around 43 casualties. On Friday, a US official accused China of carrying out incursions taking advantage of neighbouring countries which are busy fighting the Coronavirus pandemic. Early this week, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the president is aware of the situation and the US is monitoring the situation between Indian and Chinese forces along the line of actual control in Eastern Ladakh. During a phone call on June 2nd that Trump had with Prime Minister Modi, they did discuss the situation on the Indo-China border, McEnany said.
