Details Of Chinese Soldier Captured In Ladakh's Demchok; China Requests For Whereabouts Of PLA Trooper

The Chinese solider was apprehended in Demchok sector of Eastern Ladakh, after he strayed across Line Of Actual Control.

New Delhi: A corporal-rank Chinese soldier was apprehended on Monday by security forces in Chumar-Demchok area of Ladakh, amid the ongoing border tensions between both the countries. As per sources cited by news agencies, he might have entered Indian territory inadvertently. The trooper will be returned to Chinese Army as per established protocol after following due procedure. Twitter Users Attack Xiaomi Over Weather App Not Showing Results For Itanagar As per a statement by the Indian Army, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) solider has been identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long. He was apprehended in Demchok sector of Eastern Ladakh, after he strayed across Line Of Actual Control. However, as per news agency IANS, the Chinese soldier told Indian agencies that he had crossed the disputed border to retrieve a yak that had strayed into Indian territory. The soldier, a corporal, is being questioned to establish whether he was on an espionage mission. As per established protocols, he will be returned back to Chinese officials at the Chushul – Moldo meeting point after completion of formalities. Winters have arrived on the Himalayas and soldiers now face the prospect of braving temperate - 30 degrees below zero degree Celsius. India-China border standoff:  India-China border standoff has entered the sixth month, and an early resolution to the row still appears dim with close to 100,000 Indian and Chinese troops remaining deployed in the high-altitude region and showing readiness for a long-haul. In the recently conducted seventh round of military level talks both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, not to turn differences into disputes, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas.
