Haryana Govt To Open De-Addiction Centres To Curb Drug Menace In State, Says CM Khattar
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday announced that the Haryana government has decided to open drug de-addiction centres across the state.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday announced that his government has decided to open drug de-addiction centres across the state. While interacting with people during a ‘Jan Samvad’ programme in Chormar Khera village in Sirsa, CM Khattar said, in an official statement, the government has been constantly working in the direction to eradicate the drug menace from the state. Later, during the event, Khattar also said that Sirsa's Dabwali sub-division will now be a new police district and said this will help combat drug smuggling, as reported by news agency PTI.
Khattar, as quoted by PTI, said, "Taking a big step in this direction, the government has now decided to open drug de-addiction centres across the state.” Eminent personalities will also be entrusted with the task of running such de-addiction centres with the objective to guide the youth and bring them on the right path, the Chief Minister added.
Meanwhile, in the Chormar Khera village, the girl students of Government Senior Secondary School had registered complaints that new rooms in the school were not being constructed. Speaking on this, Khattar said the government has released the first instalment of Rs 70 lakh for the construction of rooms in the school, which will be completed soon.

He also directed the District Education Officer for making a temporary arrangement of four rooms till the new rooms are constructed.
CM Khattar said more than 1.04 lakh youths got government jobs on merit during the tenure of his government.
He said the BJP-led government has brought radical changes in the state by implementing several public welfare schemes to provide benefits to various sections of the society, in the last eight-and-half years, reported PTI.
Notably, CM Khattar started the 'Jan Samvad' programme in Rohtak district last year. The programme was later organised in many districts including Bhiwani, Palwal and Kurukshetra across the state.
During 'Jan Samvads', people share their grievances with the Chief Minister and he directs officials to resolve their problems on the spot.
