Full Emergency Declared For Delhi-Bhubaneswar Vistara Flight After Hydraulic Failure
A full emergency was declared for Air Vistara flight UK 781 operating from Delhi to Bhubaneswar.
A full emergency was declared for Vistara Airlines flight UK 781 operating from Delhi to Bhubaneswar due to hydraulic failure, ANI quoted the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as saying. The aircraft, which had around 140 passengers onboard, returned to Delhi after take off.
Aviation watchdog DGCA has launched an investigation into the incident.
"Vistara's A320 aircraft VT-TNV operating the flight UK-781 from Delhi to Bhubaneswar was involved in an air turnback due to a hydraulic system issue. The plane made a priority landing at Delhi airport," PTI quoted a senior DGCA official as saying.

A Vistara spokesperson said an alternate flight has been arranged for the passengers. "A minor technical snag was detected shortly after take-off on Vistara flight UK 781 operating from Delhi to Bhubaneswar on January 9. As a precautionary step, the pilots decided to turn back and the aircraft landed safely at the IGI Airport, Delhi," the spokesperson said.
In November last year, the Tata Group announced the merger of Vistara with Air India under a deal where Singapore Airlines will also acquire a 25.1 per cent stake in Air India, marking a major consolidation in India's fast-growing aviation sector.
With this consolidation, Air India will be India's leading domestic and international carrier with a combined fleet of 218 aircraft, making it India's largest international carrier and second largest domestic carrier.
In another incident on Monday, a Delhi-bound Go First plane reportedly left the Bangaluru airport without taking more than 50 passengers. The passengers were waiting in a shuttle bus for boarding and alleged that were not taken onboard the Go First flight, PTI reported.
The flight G8 116 departed at 6.40 am on Monday, leaving behind the passengers, who took to social media to narrate their ordeal.
"Flight G8 116 (BLR-DEL) flew leaving passengers on ground! More than 50 passengers on 1 bus were left on ground & the flight took off with just passengers of 1 bus on boarded. Is @GoFirstairways @JM_Scindia @PMOIndia operating in sleep? No Basic checks!" said a tweet from a passenger named Satish Kumar.
The DGCA has sought a report from the airline on the incident.
