Catch the Rain campaign

“In most parts of India, rain starts in May-June. Can we start a 100-day campaign from now on to harvest rainwater, to clean the waters around us? With this thinking, a few days from now, the Jal Shakti Abhiyan - 'Catch the Rain' is also being started by the Jal Shakti ministry. The basic mantra of this campaign is - Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls,” he said.

Modi said this is the best time to think about water conservation ahead of the months of summer.

Atamanirbhar Bharat

PM Modi also shared examples of social entrepreneurs who are working towards making India Atmanirbhar.  He said that India has to launch Made in India's products in every field to raise the heads with pride.

PM Modi shared the example of Pramodji, from Bettiah, who was working in a LED blub factory in Delhi, understood the process of bulb production & started a small LED blubs manufacturing unit at this native place.

National Science Day

PM Modi greeted the nation on National Science Day and said, "It is dedicated to the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' by scientist Dr CV Raman. Our youth should read a lot about Indian scientists and understand the history of Indian science."

He also lauded the contribution of science in making India a self-reliant nation and called for the people of the country to take forward 'lab to land' mantra.

Pariksha pe Charcha

Further, wishing students ahead of their examinations, PM Modi said, 'Be a warrior, not worrier.' He also invited parents, teachers for their suggestion for "Pariksha pe Charcha."

“The coming months are of special importance in your life. Most young friends will have to appear for their exams. You do remember that you have to become a warrior, not a worrier and appear for the exams smiling and return home smiling. You have to compete with yourself, not against anyone else," PM Modi said during his Mann Ki Baat programme.

PM Modi Regrets Not Learning Tamil

Addressing the show, PM Modi today said that in its run-up, one listener Aparna Reddy had asked him if there was something he missed out on during these long years as Chief Minister and Prime Minister.

"I thought about the question and felt that - it is a regret of sorts that I could not learn the world's oldest language, Tamil. It is a beautiful language and popular across the world. Many people told me about the qualities of Tamil literature and the depths of Tamil poetry," the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi has, in the recent past, used Tamil in his speeches and quoted Tamil verses in Parliament.
