Four New Omicron Cases Detected In Delhi, Tally Rises To Six: Delhi Health Minister
Jain informed that currently 35 Covid-19 patients and 3 suspected cases are admitted in the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital in New Delhi.
New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Tuesday said that four new cases of Covid-19 with Omicron variant have been detected in the national capital.
This has taken the tally of Omicron variant cases detected in Delhi to 6. He further added that out of the 6 cases, one patient has been discharged from the hospital. Jain informed that currently 35 Covid-19 patients and 3 suspected cases are admitted in the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital in New Delhi.

Earlier in the day, a total of 41 cases of the Omicron variant have been reported in the country. Maharashtra has reported 20 cases of Covid-19 with the Omicron variant.
9 cases of Omicron variant were reported in Rajasthan, 3 in Karnataka, 4 in Gujarat, 1 in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Chandigarh. Among the new cases, two cases were reported from Maharashtra and one case from Gujarat. The two people who tested positive in Maharashtra had travelled from Dubai whereas the person found positive in Gujarat was a returnee from South Africa.
At a global level, the World Health Organisation noted that Covid-19 cases with Omicron variant had been reported by 63 countries as of December 9. The first death by the new mutation of the virus was reported from the United Kingdom.
