After the assessment of the threat perception to his life, BJP leader Kapil Mishra was provided with a Y+ security cover. Mishra has been accused of inciting riots in northeast Delhi.
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kapil Mishra who is accused of inciting violence in northeast Delhi, has been provided with a Y+ category security. The elevation in his security cover has been done after the saffron leader demanded it alleging threat to his life. He was given the security after assessing the threat perception to his life.
On March 1, he had claimed in a tweet that he was receiving threats to his life on phone, WhatsApp and e-mail, both from India and abroad. He also shared screenshots of some of the threat messages he had been receiving.
He also tweeted that he does not fear the “hate campaign” launched against him.
The Y+ security cover entitles him to six security personnel all the time to guard his life.
Opposition has slammed Kapil Mishra and other BJP leaders for hate-mongering during the Delhi election campaign and ahead of the communal violence in northeast Delhi.
