Air Raid Sirens Mock Drill To Be Conducted At Delhi PWD Headquarters Today, Airport Issues Advisory

The authorities have also called on media outlets to help disseminate about testing of air raid sirens widely through electronic and social platforms to avoid unnecessary confusion or concern.

The Directorate of Civil Defence in Delhi will conduct a routine test of air raid sirens at the Public Works Department (PWD) Headquarters located at ITO on Friday. The test is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM and will last for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

A press release by Delhi government said, "Directorate of Civil Defence will be testing Air Raid Sirens Installed at PWD HQ, ITO. The testing will commence at 3.00 PM and be carried out for a period of 15-20 minutes. Accordingly, it is requested that adequate publicity may be made through social and electronic media so that general public are advised to stay calm and not to panic during the said exercise."

Delhi Airport Advisory 

In an advisory, Delhi Airport stated that operations remain normal; however, some flight schedules and security processing times may be affected due to evolving airspace conditions.

Taking to X, Delhi Airport said, "Passengers are advised to: Follow advisories issued by their respective airlines. Follow all hand baggage and check-in luggage guidelines. Be prepared for additional time at security checkpoints. Cooperate with airline and security staff for smooth processing."

"Check flight status via their airline or visit Delhi Airport's official website for real-time updates. We urge everyone to rely only on official sources for accurate information and avoid sharing unverified content. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work with all stakeholders to ensure a safe and seamless travel experience," it said, as per X.
