Bihar schools reopening: The decision of reopening schools in Bihar will be taken after a review of the COVID cases in the state, said State Education Minister, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary.
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing third wave in the country, Bihar Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Thursday said that the state government wants to reopen schools and the decision will be taken based on the health department's assessment of the COVID-19 situation in the state.
In a statement given to the news agency ANI, Bihar minister told, "Education Department wants to reopen the schools in Bihar. The decision will be taken based on the health department's assessment of the COVID situation in the state".

Significantly, a decline has been registered in the cases of COVID-19 in Bihar. After which educational institutions are likely to be opened in the state from February 7.
If there is a decline in the infections in the same way, then all government and private schools besides colleges, coaching institutes, and other educational institutions will be opened after 6 February reportedly. The final decision regarding this will be taken in the meeting of the Crisis Management Group constituted by the state government.
A meeting will be held on February 5 under the chairmanship of the chief secretary of Bihar Amir Subhani in which the decision will be taken regarding the reopening of schools.
In view of the case of COVID in the state, the existing guidelines of the Bihar government will remain effective till 6 February. According to which educational institutions will remain closed. Apart from this, the offices of educational institutions will also open with 50 percent attendance.
The active case count of COVID-19 in Bihar is 3752, on February 2, 2022, according to the Bihar Health Department. Total cases recorded on Wednesday, February 2, is approximately 8 lakh in the state.
