New Delhi: As residents grapple with the aftermath of cyclonic storm Michaung, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday directed Collectors of districts and superintendents of police to work towards restoring normalcy in the affected areas.

He also directed officials to restore electricity in the affected places on a war footing and initiate steps to repair damaged roads and resume transportation services, reported news agency PTI.

Chennai witnessed some respite as the rain stopped on Tuesday but struggled to cope with large-scale water logging, power cuts, and disruption in mobile networks.

Southern districts of Odisha and eastern Telangana continue to be on alert, according to PTI.
