Covid-19 Update: India Records 4,184 New Cases, 104 Fatalities In 24 Hours

New Delhi: India recorded 4,184 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, taking the country's total Covid tally to 42.98 million.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, active Covid cases dropped to settle at 44,488.
With 104 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 515,459, which is an increase of 1.20 percent.
Active Covid cases comprise 0.10% of the total infections, while the national recovery rate improved further to settle at 98.7 percent revealed the Union Health Ministry data.

The drop in active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours is 2,474. The daily positivity rate has stood at 0.48%. The weekly positivity rate is, however, marginally higher at 0.58 per cent.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease and discharged from hospital is 4,24,20,120.
According to the ministry data, the government has administered over 179.53 crore Covid-19 vaccinatines across the country.
Despite the improving Covid-19 situation in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to take stock of the pandemic situation and vaccination drive.
Vaccination efforts by the Centre and state governments has helped India take control of the Covid-19 situation in the country. Covid cases have been on a decline for the last many days, and fatalities have remained on the lower side.
