Yogi Adityanath Slams Opposition In UP Assembly, Says Baseless Attacks Play With People's Faith

CM Yogi Adityanath said that while the assembly is on by noon, as per estimations, 56 crore people would have taken a dip in the river Ganga.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was speaking at the UP Assembly in Lucknow, during which he said that sharing baseless allegations or fake videos against “Sanatan Dharma, Maa Ganga, India or the Maha Kumbh” is like playing with the faith of 56 crore people.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that while the assembly is on by noon, as per estimations, 56 crore people would have taken a dip in the river Ganga. He said that the event wasn’t organised by any particular party or organisation.

He said that the event belongs to society, with “the government acting as a servant to fulfil its responsibilities. It is our good fortune that our government has had the opportunity to be associated with this century’s Maha Kumbh… The nation and the world have come together to elevate this event to new heights of success, dismissing all false narratives.”

Adityanath further said that only seven days were left before the Maha Kumbh Mela ended. He shared his condolences towards the people who died in the January 29 stampede and the people who were killed in road accidents while they were travelling to Kumbh. But he said that there was no need to politicise this.

“Our condolences are with the family members, the government stands with them, and the government will help them in every possible way but how appropriate is it to politicise this?”
