'Let's Work Towards A World...': PM Modi, President Mumru Extend Christmas Greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on the occasion of Christmas to the people of the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended Christmas greetings as Christians across the country celebrate the festival of Christmas. In his greeting, the PM recalled the noble teachings of Jesus Christ, whose birthday marks the celebration of this festival. 

"Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas," PM Modi said in post on X. 

"May this festive season bring joy, peace and prosperity to all. Let’s celebrate the spirit of harmony and compassion that Christmas symbolizes, and work towards a world where everyone is happy and healthy. We also recall the noble teachings of Lord Christ," he added. 

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her greetings: "Merry Christmas to all! This festival of joy spreads the message of harmony, love and compassion. Let us recall the teachings of Jesus Christ and resolve to work together for well-being and prosperity of one and all." 

Christians across the country visited churches and participated in midnight mass prayers. 

Archbishop Felix Toppo of a church in Ranchi said, "I extend my warm wishes & wish everyone happy Christmas...It is a big festival for us...Our Lord has taught us to serve the people & therefore we thank the Lord on this day."
