Chennai Power Cut On July 14 & 15: TANGEDCO will implement power shutdown in the city from 9 AM to 2 PM for maintenance.

At the time of power shutdown, residents should unplug electronics and stay hydrated.

Chennai Power Cut On July 14 & 15: TANGEDCO has announced scheduled power cuts in multiple areas of Chennai on July 14 and 15, 2025, to facilitate essential feeder and structure maintenance. Power supply will be temporarily suspended between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the affected regions.

The areas to be affected in the power cut include Besant Nagar, Pallikaranai, Rajakeelpakkam, Perumbakkam, and Mudichur.

The shutdown is scheduled due to street feeder and structure maintenance.

MUDICHUR 33/11 KV SS: Thirumudivakkam, Vetrivel Nagar, Bharathwaj Nagar, PTC Qtrs, Sarawathi Nagar, Bhagyam Gopala Krishna Nagar, Senthil Nagar, Naduveerapattu & Poothandalam Panchayat, Ettiyapuram, RRT & Dharshan Garden, Ashok Nadavanam, Gayathri Mega Nagar, Pink house 

Residents in these areas are advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions. Power may be restored earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule.

Chennai Weather Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday forecast light rain in parts of Chennai over the next 24 hours. According to the IMD, the sky will remain partly cloudy, with maximum temperatures expected to reach around 38°C and minimum temperatures likely to hover between 26°C and 27°C.

During a power cut, especially in places like Chennai where outages can be planned or sudden, residents are advised to unplug electronics to prevent damage, keep refrigerators doors closed to maintain the cooling, use battery saver mode on mobile devices and stay hydrated.
