'Mera Desh Mahaan, Bulldozer Ke Aage Lahuluhaan': How SP Leader Reacted After Jahangirpuri Demolition
Bulldozer In Jahangirpuri: Even after SC's order to stop the demolition drive, it did continue as MCD officials claimed that they have not received the court's written order copy.
New Delhi: Bulldozers were pressed into service in Delhi on Wednesday to demolish structures in the violence-hit areas of Jahangirpuri, as part of a drive against encroachments, which was later stopped after the intervention of the Supreme Court, which is now hearing the case.
Much drama unfolded, as even after the SC's order to stop the demolition drive, it continued as North Delhi Municipal Corporation officials on the ground claimed that they had not received a copy of the court's written order.
Reacting to the situation, Samajwadi Party national spokesperson Anurag Bhadouria took to Twiiter to express his thoughts. In a video posted on Twitter, he recited a poem that sought to describe how the bulldozer is hurting the Constitution of India.
Roughly translated, the poem meant: "My country is great, but is bleeding before the bulldozer. The poor will be tortured as the bulldozer will continue to hurt them. The bulldozer will continue to break the law and destroy the Constitution."

ग़रीबों को सतायेगा
बुलडोज़र चलता जायेगा।।
संविधान को मार गिरायेगा
बुलडोज़र चलता जायेगा।।
क़ानून की धज्जियाँ उड़ायेगा

Earlier, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also posted a few lines in Hindi with an image from the Jahangirpuri demolition site on his Twitter handle describing the current situation.

"This is demolition of India's constitutional values. This is state-sponsored targeting of the poor and minorities. BJP must bulldoze the hatred in their hearts instead," Rahul Gandhi said on Twitter while sharing a picture of a speeding bulldozer on one side and the Constitution on the other.
