Body Found Hanging From Tree Near Singhu Border Farmers' Protest Site, Police Probe Suicide Angle
Farmers Protest: The man who died by suicide is said to be Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab.
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing farmers' protest against the Centre's three new agricultural laws, a man's body was found hanging by the tree near the Singhu border.
The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab. Kundali police station have sent his body for post mortem examination. It is being reported that the person has died by suicide. The reasons behind the suicide are yet to be ascertained, police said.

Farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana have been agitating at Ghazipur, Tikri, and Singhu Border in Delhi-NCR for the last year to protest against the Centre's three agrarian laws.
Farmers have been demanding the Central government to withdraw all three agricultural laws. Several rounds of talks have been held between the farmers and the government so far, however, the meetings have remained inconclusive.

Meanwhile, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Monday called upon all farmers to observe one year of the agitation against the contentious agrarian laws by marching towards the Parliament in the national capital.
500 farmers to participate in peaceful tractor march to Parliament every day during Winter Session, SKM stated, as reported by news agency PTI.
