BJP Protests Stalin’s Delimitation Meet, Alleges Misgovernance: 'Did He Resolve Cauvery Or Mullaperiyar?'

Amid the protest against delimitation meet in Chennai, the BJP leaders accused the DMK government of using the issue as a diversion from its governance failures and corruption allegations.

Tamil Nadu BJP leaders, including Tamilisai Soundararajan and state party chief K Annamalai, staged protests on Saturday against the First Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting on delimitation convened by Chief Minister MK Stalin in Chennai on Saturday. The BJP leaders accused the DMK government of using the issue as a diversion from its governance failures and corruption allegations.

Speaking on the meet, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan told to ANI, "Union Home Minister Amit Shah's speech clearly exposed the double standards of DMK. He said that we will go to each and every village to expose the corruption charges against the DMK... The delimitation has not even been announced, but the CM is conducting a meeting to hide his misgovernance. All the CMs of other states are attending the meeting to hide their misgovernance..."

Further, she asked if CM Stalin conducted meetings to solve Cauvery or Mullaperiyar dam issues. She told PTI, "We are showing this black flag to safeguard the interests of people of Tamil Nadu. I am asking Stalin - did he conduct any meeting to solve the Cauvery problem? Did he solve the Mullaperiyar dam issue? So, delimitation has not been announced, and not a single word has been uttered by the central government."

Amit Shah's Remarks On DMK and Delimitation

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a gathering in Coimbatore, criticised the DMK, stating, as per ANI, "Sometimes it feels as if DMK has let all the corrupts in the society join DMK through a membership drive. MK Stalin and his son are raising several issues to deviate from the real issues. Delimitation JAC Meeting

Despite BJP's opposition, the high-profile meeting on "Fair Delimitation" is being attended by several key opposition leaders, including: Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala, A Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, DK Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka among other senior leaders of other parties.

However, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which was invited to the meeting, has opted not to send a representative.
