BJP Leader Tajinder Bagga Returns Home In Delhi, Says Will Keep Fighting Until Kejriwal Apologises

The Haryana police surrounded the Punjab police vehicles and escorted them off the highway to a police station in Kurukshetra where the Punjab police personnel were detained.

New Delhi: BJP Youth Wing leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga on Friday termed his detention by Punjab police “illegal” and said that he will keep fighting until CM Arvind Kejriwal does not apologise for his comments on Kashmiri Pandits. Bagga’s statement came after he returned home in Delhi on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Bagga was arrested by the Punjab police from Delhi on Friday. However, later he was sent back home after a lot of political drama. Family members of Bagga could be seen celebrating after his return, news agency ANI reported.

On Friday, Bagga was arrested by the Punjab police from Delhi. On their way to Mohali, the Punjab police were stopped by the Haryana police as Delhi police registered a kidnapping case against Punjab police on the complaint of Bagga’s father.

The Haryana police surrounded the Punjab police vehicles and escorted them off the highway to a police station in Kurukshetra where the Punjab police personnel were detained.

The Delhi police not only filed a kidnapping case against Punjab police but also obtained a search warrant with which they reached Mohali and “rescued” Bagga and brought him back home to Delhi.

The case filed by the Punjab police was in regard to a protest in which Bagga participated on March 30 following CM Kejriwal’s statements on the film Kashmir Files. The charges filed against Bagga included making provocative statements, promoting religious enmity, and criminal intimidation.

Meanwhile, on Friday AAP MLA Atishi justified the police action and accused BJP of holding Punjab police hostage illegally.

“Tajinder Pal Bagga tried to incite violence in Punjab. Punjab Police registered a case against him, sent summons 5 times, and followed the due legal process. But the Delhi Police and Amit Shah illegally held the Punjab Police hostage to save a goon,” Atishi said.
