'While World Praises PM Modi, Congress Calls Him A Snake': BJP Chief Nadda At Jharkhand Rally

BJP National President JP Nadda said while the world praised PM Modi, Congress called him names while he was addressing a rally in Jharkhand.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda, on Thursday, took a swipe at the Congress party and stated that while the world praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress called him a “snake, scorpion, illiterate and a chaiwala”. He said that many countries are passing through a recession but India continues to have the strongest economy. Nadda made these comments while addressing a public rally at Jhanda ground in Jharkhand’s Giridih district as part of the party’s mass outreach programme on the completion of nine years of the NDA government at the Centre.

During his address, Nadda made a scathing attack on the Congress saying when global leaders and CEOs were lauding Modi for his outlook and performance, it was saddening to note that the party compared him with a snake, a scorpion, illiterate and a tea-seller.

"The whole world praises PM Modi but Congress calls him a snake, illiterate, chaiwala”, BJP national president said in Jharkhand.

This comment comes in response to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's 'poisonous snake' comment made in May.

"PM Modi is like a 'poisonous snake'. You might check to see if it's poison or not. But if you lick it, you're dead," Kharge had said at an election rally.

Nadda also said that the country under PM Modi has witnessed development on all fronts during the past nine years and occupies the centre stage on the global platform.

“Today there is an economic slowdown in America, Europe, and Australia and due to the war in Ukraine there are issues in the economy, but India's economy is standing strong”, Nadda said.

According to PTI, highlighting the Centre’s achievements in infrastructure building, Nadda said, "Rs 18 lakh crore has been spent on augmenting infrastructure in the past nine years and 29 km of national highways are being constructed daily compared to just 12 km during UPA rule."

He claimed India became the fifth largest economy, fourth leading steel producer and third-biggest automobile maker under the Modi government.
