Bangladesh Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing At Nagpur Airport

Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dhaka to Dubai diverted to Nagpur airport after experiencing technical issues, making an emergency landing around midnight on Wednesday.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dhaka to Dubai made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport in Maharashtra, officials said on Thursday.

The flight was diverted and made the emergency landing at around midnight on Wednesday due to technical issues, Abid Ruhi, Senior Airport Director, Nagpur Airport said.

As per the information, the flight was carrying 396 passengers and 12 crew members. The passengers will be flown by another flight of the company later in the day, an official said.

Earlier, on January 5, a Delhi bound Air India flight made an emergency landing, after one of its engines shut off midair. As per the information, Air India flight number 2820, Neo powered by CFM LEAP engines, was scheduled to depart Bengaluru at 5:45 pm. The flight took off from the Kempegowda International Airport at about 7 pm, however, an hour later, at around 8:11 pm, it returned after revolving in the air. Air India said that the flight returned to Bengaluru due to operational reasons. Air Traffic Control (ATC) sources confirmed the development and said that one of the engines of the flight failed while it was airborne. “All emergency protocols were followed, and ambulances and firefighters were on standby before the flight landed", an airport source said.

In the same month, a Buddha Air flight made VOR landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal's Kathmandu after sustaining a flame out from the left engine. The aircraft had 76 people on board including the crew, as per Tribhuvan International Airport. The flight was enroute to Bhadrapur from Kathmandu, when the technical issue occured.
