'Never Seen Such A Heinous Murder': Bangladesh Detective Chief 'Hopeful' Of Recovering MP's Body

Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Murder: Bangladesh and Kolkata Police are collaborating in the investigation, with Bangladesh police seeking aid in recovering Anar's missing body and interrogating suspects.

Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Murder: The Chief of Bangladesh's Detective Department, Harun-or-Rashid, has described the murder of MP Anwarul Azim Anar as one of the most barbaric and meticulously planned murders he has ever encountered. "This is the place where our Parliamentarian was murdered and barbarically cut into pieces and disposed of. In my life, I have never seen such a heinous yet planned murder," Rashid stated on Monday. He expressed hope that with the cooperation of the Kolkata Police, they would be able to recover Anar's body, as reported by news agency ANI.

"We have come with the accused who was arrested by the Kolkata Police to ascertain where they had dropped the flesh and how to recover the body. The way the Kolkata Police is helping us, we are hopeful that we will be able to recover the body," Harun-or-Rashid said.

He also informed that the Detective Department recreated the crime scene with the accused.

"Today we have reconstructed the crime scene with the accused (arrested in the case). Our second team is also working in Bangladesh and is trying to trace other absconding accused. We are trying to find out the main motive behind this crime," the Bangladesh detective chief said, as per ANI.

A team of Bangladeshi police officials arrived in Kolkata on Sunday afternoon to collaborate with the West Bengal CID in investigating Anar's gruesome murder. They aim to interrogate the arrested suspects and visit Baranagar, where Anar resided, to speak with his friend and the landlord of the house where he stayed.

A senior state CID officer, speaking to news agency PTI on condition of anonymity, expressed their readiness to assist the Bangladesh detectives in every possible way. "All evidence gathered by the state CID regarding the case will be shared with them," he said.

Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Murder Case

The search for the missing MP began when Gopal Biswas, a resident of Baranagar and an acquaintance of Anar, lodged a complaint with local police on May 18. Biswas reported that Anar, who had arrived in Kolkata on May 12 for medical treatment, had gone missing. According to Biswas, Anar left his residence in Baranagar for a doctor's appointment on May 13, assuring that he would return home for dinner. However, he became unreachable on May 17, prompting Biswas to file a missing complaint the following day.

Circumstantial evidence gathered by the Kolkata Police indicates that Anar was first strangled and then his body was chopped into pieces and dumped in different areas. As of now, traces of his body or body parts are yet to be found.

The police teams from both countries are working to uncover the mystery behind this murder.
