Angallu Violence Case: Chandrababu Naidu Gets Relief As HC Grants Anticipatory Bail
The Angallu case is linked to the violence that occurred at the TDP chief's campaign event in August.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court granted TDP chairman N Chandrababu Naidu anticipatory bail in the Angallu violence case on Friday, news agency PTI reported. The High Court finished hearing arguments in the Angallu violence case on Thursday, reserved its orders, and issued them today. After his ordinary bail petition in the Angallu case was recently denied, Naidu filed an anticipatory bail petition. The Angallu case is linked to the violence that occurred at the TDP chief's campaign event in August.
Several police officers and TDP and YSRCP supporters were hurt in stone pelting, arson, and a riot at Angallu, Annamayya district, and Punganuru, Chittoor district.
Naidu is now being held at the Rajamahendravaram central prison on judicial detention for allegedly misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, resulting in a reported loss of nearly Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
The TDP head, on the other hand, is still facing two more corruption charges: the Inner Ring Road case and the Fibre Net case.

The Angallu issue involves allegations that Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP officials instigated violence against local Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders in August. The Andhra Pradesh administration, led by the YSCRCP, has filed a formal police report in the matter.
According to the allegation, Naidu and other TDP politicians assaulted YSRCP leaders during a political gathering in Angallu village in August. In this instance, Naidu has been charged with attempted murder under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as other related provisions.
The high court had asked the CID not to arrest Naidu in the Angallu violence case till today's hearing during the last hearing on Wednesday. On Monday, Naidu will appear in court for the hearing on the Amaravati Inner Ring Road matter.
