Amrit Udyan To Welcome Visitors Again From August 16 — Check Timings, How To Make Bookings, And More

Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan is scheduled to reopen for visitors on August 16, following a significant number of visitors earlier this year.

Amrit Udyan, the picturesque garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan, is set to welcome visitors once again from August 16, as announced in an official statement on Thursday. This will mark the second opening of the garden this year, following its initial operation from January 29 to March 31 during the Udyan Utsav-I, which drew an impressive footfall of over 10 lakh visitors.

The Udyan Utsav 2023 was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on January 29, when the renowned Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan were renamed as Amrit Udyan in honour of India's 75th Independence Day celebrations.

According to an official statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan, "Amrit Udyan will open for the public from August 16, 2023, for one month (except on Mondays), under the Udyan Utsav-II. On September 5, it will be exclusively open for teachers to mark the Teachers' Day."

"It is for the first time that the Udyan is being opened for the second time in a year," an official was quoted as saying by The Mint.

"The Udyan Utsav-II aims to show visitors the vibrant bloom of summer annuals." According to the statement, "students from government schools will be able to explore the museum for free during this time period."

The visiting hours for the gardens will be from 10 am to 5 pm, with the last entry at 4 pm. The entry gate for the visitors will be gate no. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan, conveniently located near North Avenue.

Starting from August 7, bookings for visiting the Amrit Udyan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum can be made online through the official Rashtrapati Bhavan website - visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.

The statement also added that walk-in visitors can obtain passes from self-service kiosks placed near gate no. 35, and the entry to Amrit Udyan remains free of cost. Visitors will have the delightful opportunity to not only explore Amrit Udyan but also to book their slots online for a visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, making it a memorable and enriching experience amidst the lush greenery and historic significance of the venue.
