Bengaluru Doctor Threatens To Crash Air India Express Flight Over Luggage Issue, Booked

The accused, identified as Dr Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, 36, a resident of Yelahanka, reportedly created a ruckus shortly after boarding the aircraft around 2:45 PM.

A Bengaluru-based woman doctor has been booked by the police for allegedly misbehaving with cabin crew and threatening to crash an Air India flight bound for Surat, Gujarat. The incident occurred aboard a Tuesday afternoon flight departing from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Doctor Creates Ruckus On Air India Flight

The accused, identified as Dr Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, 36, a resident of Yelahanka, reportedly created a ruckus shortly after boarding the aircraft around 2:45 p.m. According to the police, she placed her handbag in the front row and then demanded that cabin crew carry it to her assigned seat in row 20F.

When questioned about the improper placement of her bag, Dr Mohanbhai allegedly became agitated and verbally abusive. Despite multiple attempts by the flight crew and even the pilot to defuse the situation, she refused to cooperate and began shouting at both airline staff and fellow passengers.

Doctor Threatened To Crash Flight

The situation took a serious turn when she allegedly threatened to "crash the flight," prompting the pilot to alert security. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were called in, and the passenger was offloaded before takeoff.

The flight was delayed for nearly three hours, resuming its journey only after the doctor was removed from the aircraft.

The complaint filed by Agnimitra Bahinipati, associate manager of security at Kempegowda International Airport, states that the woman’s unruly conduct persisted even after being taken to the airport police station, where she allegedly assaulted and verbally abused the officers present.

Her husband, who works at an educational institution in Bengaluru and is originally from Odisha, appeared before the police and confirmed she was on her way to Gujarat to visit family. He further informed authorities that she had stopped practising medicine and had exhibited similar disruptive behaviour in public settings previously.
