ABP Southern Rising Summit 2024 LIVE: ABP Network's much-awaited 'Southern Rising Summit' has returned with its second edition. This year's Southern Rising Summit, themed 'Coming of Age: Identity, Inspiration, Impact', is being held in Hyderabad on October 25. The summit will celebrate the political, cultural, economic, and social advances of the southern states with changemakers and visionaries from the New South and explore the region’s transformative journey towards a brighter future.

South India, home to nearly 20% of India's population, has long been at the forefront of the nation’s development. It contributes an impressive 31% to the country's GDP, and this figure is expected to rise to 35% by 2030, highlighting the region's pivotal role in the economic landscape of India. 

The Southern Rising Summit was first held in Chennai in 2023, when several speakers celebrated ideas that define South India. This time too the summit will explore the region's cultural, economic, and political advancements that have stood out and played a critical role in the nation's overall progress.

Key speakers at the Southern Rising Summit include Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who will speak about the rise of his state throughout the years. Telangana MLA and minister in the previous BRS government, KT Rama Rao, will discuss the responsibilities of the Opposition in Telangana's political landscape.

Co-founder of Rapido, Aravind Sanka, will also attend the summit and share insights into transport accessibility. Other speakers include noted historian and author Dr Vikram Sampath, who will discuss historical narratives from Savarkar to Tipu Sultan, former president of Telangana Telugu Mahila and TDP spokesperson Jyothsna Tirunagari, Congress national spokesperson Shama Mohamed, BJP leader Kompella Madhavi Latha, and Mohammad Ali Baig, a Padma Shri awardee in theatre.

The lineup also includes prominent political figures like Madhu Goud Yaskhi, actor and costume designer Gautami Tadimalla, Congress’s Campaign Committee Chairman in Telangana, BJP MP from Medak Raghunandan Rao Madhavaneni.

Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation and National General Secretary of the TDP, will share his journey from MP to minister, reflecting on the political evolution in the region.

Aravind Sanka, co-founder of bike taxi aggregator app, Rapido said that more than 20 lakh drivers are associated with the platform that helps in creating local employment. "Creating local employment keeps up moving and motivated," Sanka said.
