3 Members Of Sikhs For Justice Arrested For Pro-Khalistan Graffiti In Delhi & Punjab

The arrests have been made in connection with Pro-Khalistan graffiti being spotted at various public places in Bhatinda, Punjab and in Delhi.

A few days after pro-Khalistan slogans were discovered on the pillars of Delhi's metro stations, the Punjab police along with the Counter-Intelligence team have arrested three members of the Sikhs for Justice outfit for their involvement in the same.

The arrests have been made in connection with Pro-Khalistan graffitis being spotted at various public places including Bhatinda in Punjab and in Delhi, with the latest once being spotted at Karol Bagh and Jhandewalan metro stations.

On 27th April, pro-Khalistani slogans were written on walls of the District Administrative Complex & Court Complex, Bathinda. Subsequently, pro-Khalistani slogans were spotted at metro stations in Delhi on May 9, DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav told news agency ANI.

Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) is a banned Sikh separatist group, which is based in the United States.

After the incident, the Delhi Police had filed a First Information Report and also obtained the CCTV footage from the DMRC authorities.

A security guard who was stationed at a building near the Karol Bagh metro station had noticed the slogans on the metro station pillar when he arrived at his duty on Sunday morning.

"I came to duty at 8 am and saw that something was written in black colour on the pillars of the metro station. A huge crowd had gathered there and was reading the slogans," the security guard told ANI.

He added that these slogans might have been written at night since no one was present at that time to see who wrote them.

This is not the first time that such incidents have happened. In January, Delhi Police nabbed a man for his alleged involvement in pro-Khalistani graffiti in Delhi's Tilak Nagar area.
