Hero Launches the Much-Anticipated Splendor iSmart 110
New Delhi: Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Splendor iSmart 110, which is the first indigenously developed motorcycle from the Hero stables, after its concluded association with the Honda. The Splendor iSmart 110, as its name suggests, is a 110 cc upgrade from its elder sibling that sported a 100 cc engine.
This upgrade is sure to appeal to Indian sensibilities, as we now expect a smashingly-aesthetic design coupled with more technological features at a convenient price. Hence, the iSmart 110 carries over the coveted i3S Technology, from the Splendor iSmart, that performs the start-stop operation, turning off the engine, when idle. Depressing the clutch ignites it back again. So, this feature is expected to improve its fuel efficiency to a hugely appreciable 75-80 kmpl, which is currently the claimed mileage of the iSmart 110.
The Splendor iSmart 110 shines in terms of design, compared to its 100 cc counterpart. The just-launched motorcycle looks sleeker than the bland-looking iSmart. The gaudy colors of the previous version are also done away with for more modern, subtle and neon-gloss colors.
The mechanical feature is the single-cylinder, 110 cc, air-cooled engine, delivering an up-tweaked 9.1 PS power output and 9 Nm of torque, which is also higher than the previous. The starting price during the launch is Rs. 53,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Expected to make a long history as did the classic Hero Honda Splendor, the Hero Splendor iSmart 110 will face competition from the TVS Victor, Yamaha Saluto RX and the Honda Liva.
The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 surely looks much evolved from the iSmart in terms of design and style, while it is expected to deliver better performance and fuel efficiency, while also accelerating the sales numbers for the Hero.
