The Union Territory reported 79 cases till March 11, as per a report on The Live Mint. However, there are no deaths related to the virus.

However, the health department is working in full swing in UT to bring the rising cases under control. The UT has also started special booths in outpatient departments in the hospitals to treat influenza.

The move also comes after demands by several factions including political parties and parents to close the schools amid increasing virus cases.

According to doctors, the H3N2 virus is attacking kids and the elderly. Therefore, the doctors suggest that people follow Covid protocols including wearing masks, following social distancing and all other rules.

Doctors say that in some patients getting infected with H3N2 virus, more infection is spreading in the lungs. Due to this, the condition of getting pneumonia is also being created. Often in elderly or small children, when the case worsens, there is also a need to admit them to the hospital.
