Reliance Jio GigaFiber: Mukesh Ambani at the RIL AGM last month had reportedly said that the Jio GigaFiber service will deliver download speeds of up to 1Gbps to users.

New Delhi: Reliance Jio earlier this month announced that the Jio GigaFiber and Jio GigaTV will be rolled out to the localities with the most number of registrations. August 15 will be the date when the registration will begin for Jio GigaFiber, Jio GigaTV. Mukesh Ambani at the RIL AGM last month had reportedly said that the Jio GigaFiber service will deliver download speeds of up to 1Gbps to users. However, the service will not be a pan-India initiative but will be rolled out in 1,100 cities only. Currently, the JioGigaFiber services are Prepaid and the company plans to launch the JioGigaFiber Post-paid in due course of time. • JioGigaFiber is the latest offering from Reliance Jio for homes. • Jio offers superior internet experience to explore your Digital Life. • As per the company, JioGigaFiber beats the rest because of its ultra fast upload and download speeds and effective functioning in merely 'milli seconds'.

Jio GigaFiber registrations

• The Jio GigaFiber registrations that will begin on August 15 is merely a 'registration'. • This means the interested customers will not get the service right away after registering the interest (except in areas where it is already rolled out). • The company will gauge the demand from all locations and start the operations in areas with the most demand for its high-speed broadband network. • Ambani in his AGM speech had said, “we will prioritise our Jio GigaFiber rollout to those localities from where we receive the highest number of registrations.”

Jio GigaFiber: How to register

• Interested users will be able to register for Jio GigaFiber from the MyJio app and Jio.com website. • Unlike the Jio Phone last year, users interested in the broadband network will not have to pay any sum while registering their interest.

• JioGigaFiber is currently available in select locations at select cities. • To check availability of JioGigaFiber at your location, you can: A) Email Jio with the complete address along with the PinCode and contact number at jiofibercare@jio.com, OR B) Call Jio on the toll free number: 1800 896 9999

What is the current plan/offer in JioGigaFiber?

• The current offer is JioGigaFiber preview offer which gives ultra high-speed internet up to 100Mbps for 90 days along with a monthly data quota of 100 GB, according to the company. • The user will also get a complimentary access to a host of Jio's premium apps. • Incase, the user consume 100 GB of data quota within a month, then he/she can continue to enjoy our high speed internet services by performing a complimentary data top-up of 40 GB via MyJio App or through Jio.com. • As this is a preview offer, there are no installation charges levied but there is a refundable security deposit of Rs.4,500 taken for the ONT device (GigaHub Home Gateway). • This amount needs to be paid through Debit card, Credit Card, Jio Money or Pay TM.
