The announcement of the PUBG ban has come as a shock to avid PUBG players who are now looking for other alternatives.

New Delhi: In a surprise decision, the Indian government has banned 118 applications with direct or indirect links to China over the concerns of national security. These include the widely popular gaming app PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile.  The announcement has come as a shock to avid PUBG players who have shared their reaction through funny memes on social media and with that, they seem to have already started searching for an alternate game to switch to before the game officially ends operations in India. Here are some alternatives that you can check out:

• Call of Duty: Mobile

This game has perhaps been PUBG's biggest rival as players of both the games have often come face to face for debating which is the better game among the two. Call of Duty was trending on Twitter soon after the ban was announced.

• Garena Free fire

Released in 2017, the game is not as popular as PUBG. It features 10-minute long games where players have to battle 49 others for survival on a remote island. Players can choose their starting position, choose weapons and supplies to extend their life. It is available for free on iOS and Android.

• Fortnite

Fortnite is among the biggest battle-royale games in the world. In this game, 100 players jump off on to a battlefield to fight each other and the last player who manages to survive becomes the winner. Fortnite supports cross-platform functionality so smartphone players can compete against PC and console players. It is available to play on mobiles, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

• Knives Out

5 players in a group and a hundred in total in battle. Users have work with teammates to live till the end. Users can check it out for interesting martial arts style fights and impressive graphics.

• Black Survival

This game has users in 20-minute long survival battles wherein 10 players land on a deserted island and fight to survive. The island is divided into 22 areas; including Hospital, Forest, Beach etc and as time passes, they turn into restricted areas, narrowing the battlefield.
