New Delhi: Stage is set as the American multinational tech giant Google is about to launch its next generation Pixel devices at its annual hardware event today. According to reports, Google will unveil the much-awaited Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL at today’s event is slated to take place in New York at 11 am ET (8: 30pm IST). The forthcoming smartphones are successor to Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL and will reportedly run on Android 9.0 Pie along with Snapdragon 845 SoC. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL smartphones are expected to feature a similar design to the Pixel 2 including dual-tone, half-glass, half-matte back with rounded corners across. However, the front of the smartphones will be much different compared to its previous models. While the Pixel 3 XL is expected to come with a 6.7-inch display, an increase of 0.7-inches, the smaller Pixel 3 will boast a 5.5-inch display, 0.5 inches larger. These smartphones are also said to be launched in two colour variants – pink and aqua. When and where to watch the Google Pixel 3 event: The Google Pixel 3 launch event is scheduled to take place in New York City at 11am EST (8:30pm IST). The entire event will be live streamed on YouTube through the Made by Google channel. Estimated price: Though there is no clarity about the exact prices of Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL smartphones, experts predict them to be in a bracket of Rs 70,000 to Rs 90,000 in India. For reference, the Pixel 2 was launched in India at Rs 61,000 for the 64GB model and its 128GB model costed Rs 70,000. Similarly, the Pixel 2 XL was priced at Rs 73,000 for the 64GB model and its 128GB storage model came at Rs 82,000. Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL specifications and features: As per various reports doing rounds, the Google Pixel 3 will feature a 5.5-inch full-HD display, whereas the Pixel 3XL will come with a 6.3-inch QHD+ display. Both the models will be coupled with 4GB RAM. The smartphone models are also expected to have a dual selfie camera setup that will include two 8-megapixel sensors. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will reportedly have 64GB and 128GB storage options and are not likely to be expanded using microSD card. The Pixel 3 is rumoured to boast a 3,915mAh battery, whereas the Pixel 3 XL could have a 3,430mAh battery.
